Genmab says Ofatumumab successful against rheumatoid arthritis in phase 2 trial |

COPENHAGEN (Thomson Financial) - Danish pharmaceutical company Genmab AS said a phase 2 trial indicated its drug Ofatumumab, also known as HuMax-CD20, is successful in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).'The level of response of patients in the study illustrates the potential of Ofatumumab in the treatment of RA and we hope to see similar results in the phase 3 study being planned for later this year,' said Genmab chief executive Lisa Drakeman.Genmab said yesterday evening it has initiated a phase 2 study of Ofatumumab for treatment of the cancer form follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.Ofatumumab is co-developed under a worldwide agreement between Genmab and GlaxoSmithKline PLC.gustav.sandstrom@thomson.comgs/slmCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
