KUALA LUMPUR (Thomson Financial) - Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) is investing 200 million ringgit over the next three years to upgrade its passenger services system, incorporating an electronic ticketing process, the government news agency Bernama reported, citing senior general manager Amin Khan.'Check-in will also be easier as passengers will just have to show their e-ticket number as a form of identification,' said Amin.Once the electronic ticketing process is completed, there will be cost savings of 20 ringgit per ticket with physical tickets no longer needed, he said, adding that this will translate into savings of up to 70 million ringgit annually for the airline.The national airline will be electronic ticketing-capable by September this year, the report said.(1 US dollar = 3.44 ringgit)munfoo.hong@thomson.comhmf/jgmfh/jgCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
