WASHINGTON (AP) - Capital One Financial Corp. has asked federal regulators to approve seven new bank branches.The Treasury Department's Office of the Comptroller of the Currency said in a weekly bulletin of regulatory activity, released Wednesday, that Capital One's requests to open the new branches were received Aug. 7 and Aug. 10.The branches, if approved, will be located in: Dallas, Texas; Brick, N.J.; Brookhaven, N.Y.; Paramus, N.J.; Livingston, N.J. and two in New York City.The credit card issuer and financial services provider has more than 300 bank branches in Louisiana and Texas, the company says on its Web site, stemming from its 2005 purchase of New Orleans-based Hibernia Corp.The company also acquired New York-based regional bank North Fork Bancorp in March 2006.Shares of Capital One fell 89 cents to $62.14 in morning trading Thursday.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
