LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Galapagos NV said it has been awarded a total of 5.2 mln eur in grants from the Netherlands and the EU for the development of candidate drugs for various indications, including its core programs in bone and joint diseases.Under these grants, Galapagos and its service division BioFocus DPI will collaborate in consortia with academia, research and development institutes and companies, the drug discovery company said.'These grants enable us to accelerate our internal discovery activities in bone and joint diseases and also to apply our technologies in other areas of unmet medical need,' said chief executive Onno van de Stolpe in a statement.tfn.newsdesk@thomson.comsim/tsm/ejbCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
