Tokyo shares opens lower on US economic worries, yen's rise

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Japanese shares opened sharply lower on Friday, tracking the fall on Wall Street overnight as investors worried about the US economy and the yen's rise.

At 9:10 am (00.10 GMT), the benchmark Nikkei was down 260.36 or 1.7 percent at 15,153.94.

while the broader Topix was 30.1 points or 2 percent lower at 1,468.76.
