MILPITAS, Calif. (AP) - Data storage chip developer LSI Logic Corp. said Friday it will pay $55 million in cash to buy a privately held company that develops chips for data enterprise data storage devices.LSI Logic said it expects to close the deal in the first quarter.The company said the purchase of Fremont, Calif.-based SiliconStor Inc. would expand its customer base and product offering within the market.Shares of LSI Logic added 11 cents to $9.40 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
