TALLINN (AFX) - Tallinna Lennujaam (Tallinn Airport) earned a profit of 95 mln kroon (6.07 mln eur) in 2006, an increase of nearly 7 pct over the year before, according to the financial report endorsed by the supervisory board today, news agency BNS reported.The CEO of Tallinn Airport, Rein Loik, speaking to BNS, described the 2006 result as have ry good'.The airport company is planning to make investments worth nearly 400 mln kroon in the airports of Tallinn, Kuressaare, Kardla, Parnu and Tartu this year, using a combination of own and borrowed funds.Total investments over the next couple of years are projected to total approximately 1.4 bln kroon.In 2006, Tallinn Airport served 1.54 mln passengers, up one-tenth on 2005 numbers.The passenger traffic target for this year is 1.7 mln.Several new airlines -- City Airline, Finncom Airlines and flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines -- already have arrangements in place to start flying to Tallinn, while Goteborg, Palanga and Vienna were named as new destinations by the company.newsdesk@afxnews.comjsa/ambCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
