TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Sony Computer Entertainment Inc has shipped 1 mln of its PlayStation 3 game consoles within Japan since it launched the product here November, the fully-owned unit of Sony Corp said.The company had reported previously that it had shipped 1 mln PlayStation 3s in North America, meaning that it has now shipped 2 mln globally -- the largest volume of shipments of any game console made by the company within two months of its launch.Yesterday, Nomura Securities Co said Sony Computer Entertainment was likely to undershoot the target of 6.0 mln sales of PlayStation 3s that the company had set for the fiscal year ending March.Nomura said in a research report that weaker-than-expected sales in North America meant it now expected the company to sell 4.5 mln PlayStation 3s in this fiscal year.(1 usd = 120.33 yen)yumiko.nishitani@xfn.com
