NEW YORK (AFX) - Aluminum processor Alcoa said Tuesday it agreed to a research partnership with India's Council of Scientific & Industrial Research.Alcoa will work with CSIR to develop nanotechnology and biotechnology for converting waste to useful products, packaging innovations and multi-material engineered solutions for a number of markets.Alcoa did not provide specifics of the agreement, but said it will have an oversight council staffed by four members each from Alcoa and CSIR.Alcoa shares fell 21 cents to close at $30.58 on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
