BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China has approved China Southern Airlines' plan to set up a joint-venture airline with Chongqing Development & Investment Co Ltd, which will involve a total investment of 1.2 bln yuan, the official Xinhua news agency reported.Earlier, China Southern said it will invest 720 mln yuan for a 60 pct stake in Chongqing Airlines, while Chongqing Development & Investment will take the remainder for 480 mln.Chongqing Airlines, which will fly domestic routes only, plans to use three A320 aircraft provided by China Southern, Xinhua said.Chongqing Development & Investment was set up by the Chongqing municipal government.
