PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Alcatel-Lucent said it has signed contracts worth a total of 460 mln usd with Chinese mobile phone operators China Mobile and China Unicom.Alcatel-Lucent said the contract with China Mobile is worth 340 mln usd and will provide mobile services to allow China Mobile to expand into several new provincial markets.The deal is the latest in a series of agreements with China Mobile, Alcatel-Lucent stated, including an order last month to supply an optical transport network for China Mobile units in Beijing and Guangdong.The agreement with China Unicom, meanwhile, is worth 120 mln eur and covers various network projects launched or due to be launched in 2007.These projects include an order for a high-speed data network upgrade in Macau, which Alcatel-Lucent previously announced in February without giving any financial details.tfn.paris@thomson.comgt/lamCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
