Czech June retail sales above expectations but slowing down

PRAGUE (Thomson Financial) - Czech retail sales rose slightly more than expected in June on the back of spending on specialised household goods and accommodation, data released by the Czech Statistical Office showed today.

On an annual basis, June retail sales grew by 6.8 pct, beating forecasts of 6.5 pct. But in May, sales had risen 7.1 pct on an annual basis.

'The retail sales growth is slowing down,' the office said.
