Amsterdam shares TFN market data at 10.51 am - financials push AEX up

AMSTERDAM (Thomson Financial) - The AEX traded higher amid relatively low trading volumes, pushed up by financials and with investors eyeing a higher close on Wall Street last night, an Amsterdam-based trader said.

MAJOR INDICES

AEX 488.78, up 1.80 points

AMX midcap 677.91, up 0.58 points

Government bonds higher

MAJOR GAINERS

-Unibail-Rodamco led gainers, adding 3.26 pct to 166.76 eur

-Financials helped the AEX recovery. ABN Amro rose 1.88 pct to 32.45 eur, ING added 0.71 pct to 28.55, Aegon put on 0.94 pct to 12.86 and Fortis added 1.02 pct to 12.87 eur.

-Staffing shares recovered from big losses yesterday. Vedior added 0.66 pct to 16.73 eur and Randstad lifted 0.52 pct to 40.77.

-Aalberts gained 2.50 pct to 17.20 eur after an upgrade to 'buy' at brokerage AFS.

-SNS Reaal added 5.02 pct to 14.86 eur in a belated positive reaction to yesterday's earnings, a dealer said.

MAJOR DECLINERS

-Van Lanschot dropped 0.62 pct to 71.50 eur after reporting H1 earnings.

-Hagemeyer was down 2.41 pct to 3.24 eur following weaker than expected H1 results.

-Corporate Express shed 2.24 pct to 8.28 eur

-CSM dropped 1.40 pct to 24.02 eur

-Crucell shed 2.74 pct to 14.55 eur
