Main index

-Bel 20 up 5.01 points, or 0.11 pct, at 4,481.57

Bel 20 gainers

-Dexia rises 0.25 eur or 1.11 pct to 22.87

-Delhaize gains 0.45 eur, or 0.67 pct, to 67.87, KBC anticipates solid Q3 results in the US, which represents some 80 pct of Delhaize's operating profits

-Suez 0.24 eur, or 0.56 pct higher, at 43.39, Spain's energy sector regulator CNE yesterday gave the company the green light to raise its Gas Natural stake to 11.4 pct from around 10 pct, Suez Environnement acquired 33 pct stake in Aguas de Valencia from French water company Saur

-Solvay up 0.27 eur, or 0.26 pct, at 102.85, Pipelife, its 50/50 joint venture for pipes and fittings with Austrian construction materials manufacturer Wienerberger, has started up production in a new factory in Russia.

Bel 20 fallers

-Omega Pharma drops 0.52 eur, or 0.83 pct, to 62.40

-Umicore sheds 1.40 eur, or 0.79 pct, to 175.00

-Fortis loses 0.15 eur, or 0.66 pct, to 22.68

-Belgacom edges 0.06 eur, or 0.18 pct, lower to 33.05, Flemish Community to renew its outsourcing contract with EDS-Belgacom (Telindus) consortium by early February, says KBC

-Thrombogenics drops 0.15 eur, or 1.55 pct, to 9.70

-Arseus up 0.10 eur, or 1.00 pct, at 10.06

-Telenet down 0.07 eur, or 0.28 pct, at 25.30, creation of new Walloon cable operator out of smaller operators could intensify competition for belgacom in Wallonia, joint interest of fighting off Belgacom could lead to closer commercial cooperation between Telenet and Walloon cable operator, KBC says.
