PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Genoway, a French biotechnology company which develops genetically modified animal models, said it won a contract worth up to 2 mln usd from a leading US-based biopharmaceutical company.Under the 2-year agreement, Genoway will provide customized genetically modified mouse lines tailored to researchers needs.The agreement can be increased to include additional models, the company said.'This contract is the second multi-million dollar deal of the year for Genoway,' Alexandre Fraichard, the CEO, said in a statement.In May, Genoway was awarded funding of 1.1 mln eur by the German National Genome Research Network to develop mouse models for a consortium focussing on human diseases.At 11.15 am, Genoway shares were up 0.65 eur or 10.92 pct at 6.60 eur as the Next-150 index gained 9.85 points pr 0.51 pct to 1,939.54.Andrew.Newby@Thomson.coman/tcCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
