OSLO (Thomson Financial) - Wavefield Inseis said it is to acquire a new high-end 3D seismic vessel in a deal worth 140 mln usd.Construction of the new vessel, which is being acquired by Wavefield after the original customer was unable to take delivery of it, is almost complete.'With continued very strong long term demand for marine seismic 3D services, the new 10 streamer vessel, which will be completed at an Asian yard, is due to be operational in early Q3 2008,' the Norwegian firm said.'This will be in time to meet the company's near term requirement for high capacity vessels as it continues the expansion of it's modern fleet to meet long term future market trends.'alastair.reed@thomson.comar/jlwCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
