PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Areva will not participate in any tenders launched by Iran for the construction of new nuclear power plants, French daily Les Echos reported citing comments from a company spokesman. The spokesman told the paper 'Areva works with clients and governments that fully comply with international regulations on nuclear energy. It's a general principle that applies to all our clients. That excludes de facto any cooperation with Iran.'Les Echos said Iran announced on Sunday that it was looking for suppliers for the construction of two new nuclear power plants with a capacity of 1,000 to 1,600 MW.vicky.buffery@thomson.comvb/jfrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
