German govt says budget may be balanced in 2011 |

FRANKFURT (AFX) - The German government expects to achieve a balanced budget in 2011 for the first time since 1989 if the economy continues to develop at its current rate, Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported, citing a spokesman for the Ministry of Finance.According to the report, the government is expecting a budget deficit of 1.5 pct in 2007 and 2008, while the forecast for 2009 is 1.0 pct.
