NEW YORK (AFX) - Satellite radio operator Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. said Wednesday it began broadcasting Tuesday a simulcast of Time Warner Inc.'s cable news channel CNN.Sirius, which operates as a duopoly in the sector with XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc., said its listeners can tune in to CNN on channel 132.The two companies have been rumored to be in discussions about a possible merger, but any combination would likely face significant regulatory hurdles.Sirius shares, which have climbed sharply in recent weeks on the rumors, fell 1 cent to $4.14 in early trading Wednesday.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
