LONDON (AFX) - British Land Co PLC, which earlier today exchanged contracts to buy 15 TGI friday's restaurants for 48.37 mln stg from Whitbread PLC, said it is expanding its provincial development portfolio with the purchase for 25 mln stg of the former Nat West building in Colmore Row, Birmingham.British Land bought the prime city office site, located in the heart of Birmingham, with vacant possession from Omega Land.British Land has appointed the architects Hamiltons to work with it to design a new high quality signature office building on what is widely believed to be the best office development site in central Birmingham.newsdesk@afxnews.comslmCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
