LONDON: Luxury cooker maker Aga Foodservice Group Plc. posted an 18.5 per cent increase in its 2005 full year profits and the company expected its investment programmes will bring in enhanced benefits in 2006 and beyond.
The company said its pretax profit for the year rose to 43 million pounds on a turnover of 501.8 pounds, which is up 15.7 per cent. This has been mostly because of creditworthy performance of its Aga, Rangemaster, Aga Bakery and Williams and its commercial refrigeration operation. Its international operations, especially in the U.S. and France too brought in good results.
The company said the start of 2006 has seen a continuation of the themes well established in 2005 and it will be another year where its systematic approach to development will aid progress. "Orders to date for Aga and Rangemaster suggest another sound trading performance,” it added.
Chief executive William McGrath said with new products, strong routes to market and major commercial customers raising investment levels, he hoped to have considerable expansion potential.
