LONDON (Thomson Financial) - UraMin Inc and Northwestern Mineral Ventures Inc said their joint venture has successfully completed the phase 1 drilling on the Irhazer and In Gall concessions in Niger and added additional drilling is scheduled to commence after the rainy season there.Marek Kreczmer, chief executive of Northwestern and the JV said: 'We have documented widely spaced, high-grade uranium values from rock chip samples at Irhazer and In Gall and the drill results should provide us with additional insight into the uranium mineralisation at shallow depths.'A total of 15 mud rotary holes covering 8,763 feet were drilled to test potential near-surface uranium mineralisation in the vicinity of radioactive structural domes, the companies jointly said. The joint venture company has eight uranium properties including Irhazer, In Gall, Kamas 1 to 4, and Dabala 3 and 4 over a total of 1.67 mln acres.TFN.newsdesk@thomson.comukn/amCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
