WASHINGTON (AP) - Publisher and media marketing company Meredith Corp. spent nearly $160,000 in the first six months of 2007 to lobby the federal government, according to a disclosure form.The company lobbied on a wide range of legislation, including data privacy and security, lobbying and ethics reform, Medicare and drug safety and financing for a modernized air transportation system, among other issues, according to the form posted online Tuesday by the Senate's public records office.Des Moines, Iowa-based Meredith publishes several magazines, including Better Homes and Gardens, Ladies' Home Journal and Family Circle, among others, and also owns 13 television stations.Under a federal law enacted in 1995, lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches.
