ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Ypsomed Holding AG said that Sanofi-Aventis has filed a lawsuit in Basel against Ypsomed, claiming 'certain license rights' to the insulin injection system SoloStar. The move comes in the wake of a patent infringement lawsuit that Ypsomed launched against Sanofi in Germany on Aug 27, 2007.'The lawsuit claims certain license rights, which in the opinion of Sanofi-Aventis should be granted by Ypsomed,' said Ypsomed in a statement.Ypsomed is convinced that Sanofi-Aventis has no legal titles in this respect and 'clearly contests the claims', added the statement.Sanofi-Aventis remains Ypsomed's main customer, and continues to place orders that are 'within expectations but lower than in the past year', the Swiss group said recently.sarah.fenwick@thomson.comat/sf/cmrCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
