TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The tertiary index, which measures spending in the services sector, fell 0.3 pct in November from October, the first fall in two months, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said, citing preliminary data.The gain followed a 2.1 pct rise in October from the previous month.The index was 1.1 pct higher in November than a year before, after rising by a revised 1.9 pct in October than a year earlier.The services sector employs more than half of the workforce, and spending on services such as retailing, dining and travel is closely tied to changes in income and consumer confidence.(1 usd = 120.60 yen)kaori.kaneko@xfn.com
