POTSDAM, Germany (Thomson Financial) - France's representation at the G8 finance ministers' meeting in Potsdam, Germany this weekend is in doubt following the appointment of new finance minister Jean-Louis Borloo.A spokesperson for Borloo was unable to say whether the new minister for economy, finance and employment would be coming to the meeting on Friday or Saturday.Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Eric Woerth, the new minister for the budget, public accounts and the civil service, said he thought it unlikely that Woerth would attend the meeting. The meeting in Germany has already been overshadowed by the absences of US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Paul Wolfowitz, who cancelled his visit at the last minute following his resignation as president of the World Bank last night.Borloo and Woerth were appointed this morning and are to formally take up their roles under the new Francois Fillon government at 1.30 pm today. As it currently stands, only treasury director Xavier Musca is confirmed for the French delegation at the G8 meeting.Outgoing French finance minister Thierry Breton had been due to represent France.tf.TFN-Europe_newsdesk@thomson.comafp/vlb/swCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
