NEW YORK (AFX) - Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. said Wednesday that its subscribers would now be able to get online access to audio broadcasts of the cable news network CNN.Previously, audio from the news network owned by Time Warner Inc. was available only to subscribers with Sirius-compatible radios. Now, both subscribers to Sirius radio service as well as an online-only radio offering from Sirius can listen to CNN over the Internet.Sirius operates in the satellite radio sector as a duopoly with XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. The two have been rumored to be in discussions about a possible merger, but any combination would likely face significant regulatory hurdles.Sirius shares, which have climbed sharply in recent weeks on the rumors, fell 5 cents to $4.10 in midday trading on the Nasdaq.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
