SEOUL (XFN-ASIA) - Hyundai Merchant Marine Co' Ltds 2006 preliminary

results:

Sales - 4.73 trln won vs 4.85 trln

Opg profit - 97.1 bln won vs 466.4 bln

Recurring profit - 130.8 bln won vs 424.7 bln

Net profit - 114 bln won vs 386.4 bln

The company said a surge in fuel costs and the won's strength against major

currencies was responsible for the deterioration in profits.
