Air Products boosts fluoride production |

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (AFX) - Air Products and Chemicals Inc., which provides industrial gases to manufacturers and health care providers, said Thursday it plans to increase production of tungsten hexafluoride by 60 percent.The liquefied gas is mainly used by semiconductor makers to manufacture memory chips.'We forecast solid growth for 'tungsten hexafluoride' and feel that the timing is right to add more capacity,' said Vice President Corning Painter.Shares of Air Products and Chemicals Inc. fell 12 cents Thursday to $70.97 on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
