LONDON: Singing sensation Madonna is said to be leaving Britain as reports allege that her marriage with husband Guy Ritchie in on the verge of a collapse gained credence. She is planning to move to the U.S. along with her family for a period of time, according to news reports.
The 47-year-old pop singer, who recently won the Brits award for the best international female singer, is reported to be upset because her friendship with music producer Stuart Price was causing tension between her and Ritchie, 10 years younger to her.
She is otherwise also required to be in the U.S. in order to prepare for her forthcoming world tour, according to the reports.
Meanwhile, she is said to have sought help from the Kabbalah rabbis, leaders of a religious sect in London, in which she has deep faith, to save her marriage. They have advised the singer, mother of two children, not to do anything until after the festival of Passover, in April.
Sources in the community talked about rumours that the couple's five years of marriage has been in trouble since the beginning of the year. They said she has confided in the teachers about her fears for the future of her marriage. The source added that the teachers have advised her to wait until the Passover festival, which in Kabbalism, a branch of Judaism, is seen as the beginning of spiritual journey from enslavement within oneself.
An indication of the disruption in the couple's relations came out when she, in her acceptance speech at the Brits, thanked everyone except Ritchie, who was very much on the stage.
Madonna is reported to be spending more time with Price, who had produced her "Confessions On A Dancefloor" and this relationship is said to be hurting Ritchie.
Previously married to Sean Penn, she had once told how she had nearly split with Ritchie. In a documentary, she said, "I got married for all the wrong reasons. My husband did not turn out to be everything I'd imagined him to be. I just wanted to end everything."
