VANDALIA, Ohio (AP) - Baby products maker Evenflo Co. Inc. said Thursday it has agreed to acquire Ameda Breastfeeding Products from Hollister Corp.The price of the deal was not disclosed. Ameda, based in Libertyville, Ill., makes hospital-grade breast pumps and accessories.Evenflo said the acquisition, expected to close in January, is an attempt by Evenflo to elevate its commitment to breastfeeding.Evenflo said it will retain the Ameda brand name and the jobs of the 35 Ameda employees. In addition, Evenflo said it will open an Evenflo office in the Chicago area to assure minimum disruption to the Ameda business.Evenflo, headquartered in this Dayton suburb, has 1,250 employees and makes car seats, strollers and other products for infants and juveniles.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
