Malaysia's Petronas unit to supply LNG to Japan Osaka Gas |

KUALA LUMPUR (Thomson Financial) - Malaysia's state-owned oil company Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) said Monday its unit Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd will supply up to 920,000 metric tonnes of liquified natural gas (LNG) per year to Japan Osaka Gas Co Ltd.The contract is for 15 years beginning April 2009.The LNG will be transported from the Petronas LNG complex in Bintulu in the east Malaysian state of Sarawak to Osaka Gas' receiving terminals in Senboku and Himeji in Japan.No financial details were provided.Osaka Gas is the second largest gas company in Japan, supplying household and industrial gas to more than 6.8 million users in the Kansai area.The Petronas LNG complex has a combined production capacity of about 23 million tonnes per annum.
