Amazon.com introduces Kindle, a $399 digital reading device

NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Amazon.com Inc. Monday introduced a portable reading device, named Amazon Kindle, which it will sell for $399.

Kindle allows users to wirelessly download books and magazines to an electronic display. More than 90,000 titles are available to download, Amazon said, with most of the titles selling for $9.99.

Amazon is an online retailer based in Seattle. Its stock fell 52 cents to $78.08 on Monday.
