WASHINGTON (AP) - A unit of utility operator Edison International spent $686,000 to lobby the federal government in the first half of 2007, according to a disclosure form.Southern California Edison lobbied Congress on proposals to ban energy-wasting incandescent light bulbs, climate change regulations and efforts to promote liquid fuels derived from coal, according to the form posted online Aug. 14 by the Senate's public records office.Under a federal law enacted in 1995, lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches.
