PARIS (AFX) - Renault and Peugeot made more cars abroad than in France for the first time ever last year, largely reflecting a sharp slowdown in domestic production, business daily Les Echos reported. The two car makers reduced their production in France by 15 pct in 2006, following a 3 pct drop in 2005.Outside France, Renault and Peugeot raised production by 12 pct last year, meaning that their foreign production has now doubled over the past eight years, Les Echos said. Both companies saw worldwide production fall last year, dragged down by the sharp slowdown in the French market.paris@afxnews.comgt/jlcCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
