COPENHAGEN (AFX) - Harbour operator APM Terminals wants more independence from its owner and biggest customer AP Moller Maersk, Danish daily Borsen reported, citing internal company magazine Maersk Post.'We have a marvellous possibility to build up an independent group, which operates in a fast growing industry with proven financial results and the potential to become a market leader,' APM Terminals chief executive Kim Fejfer said.APM believes it will be easier to attract other customers if it distances itself from AP Moller Maersk, Borsen said, adding that the harbour operator has divided its business into seven geographical regions to strengthen its local knowledge and its independence from AP Moller Maersk.gustav.sandstrom@thomson.comgs/jlwCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
