COPENHAGEN (AFX) - AP Moller Maersk's oil production in the North Sea fell to 270,500 barrels per day in February 2007 from 297,100 barrels per day a year earlier, RB Borsen news service reported.February 2007 production also fell from January, when production reached 275,100 barrels per day, RB Borsen added.Due to the continuously falling production in the North Sea, AP Moller is eyeing other investment possibilities such as increasing output in the Al Shaheen oil field in Qatar, RB Borsen said.The group's Maersk Oil unit will double the output of its Al Shaheen oil field in Qatar to 525,000 barrels per day despite rising costs, said Qatari daily Peninsula Online, citing Maersk Oil Qatar managing director Jakob Thomasen.gustav.sandstrom@thomson.comgs/sljCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
