TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The Bank of Japan's Tankan survey, due out April 2, is likely to show a small dip in business sentiment at large manufacturers from the December poll, a survey of 12 research institutes conducted by the Nikkei showed. The diffusion index of business sentiment at large manufacturers will average 24 for the March survey, down 1 point from December, the business daily said. The average diffusion index forecast for large nonmanufacturers stood at 22, unchanged from the prior survey, it said. The diffusion index is obtained by subtracting the percentage of companies who say their business conditions are deteriorating from the percentage who cite improvement. While corporate earnings remain brisk, uncertainty about the US economic outlook in such areas as the housing market are expected to have an impact on domestic corporate sentiment, the Nikkei said.(1 usd = 117.49 yen)yasuhiko.seki@xfn.comys/mas
