Areva uranium prospection licences refused by Finnish govt |

HELSINKI - The Finnish trade and industry ministry said it has refused several requests from Areva for uranium prospection licences.The requests related to areas judged as promising by the company in the south of Finland and in Lapland in the far north.The ministry, which granted two permits to Areva last October for exploration in the east of Finland, said the new requests 'do not fulfill the legal requirements for mining prospection.'Andrew.Newby@Thomson.comanCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
