Scottish & Southern enters partnership for 600MW Shetland Islands wind farm |

LONDON (AFX) - Scottish and Southern Energy PLC said it has signed a partnership agreement with Viking Energy to lead the development of a 600MW wind farm in Scotland's Shetland Island, the UK's largest onshore wind project.The utility will own a 50 pct stake of the project joint venture alongside Viking Energy, a company established to represent the Shetland Islands Council's interests in wind farm development.Under the agreement, the new partnership will submit a planning application for the wind farm by the end of the year.
