TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - The central bank said its board meets every quarter in principle but added that it can call extraordinary meetings if necessary to respond to special situations. Its six-member board standing committee can meet any time when necessary, the bank said in a statement. The bank said inflation matters can be discussed in either board meetings or in the monthly meetings dedicated to inflation. The central bank statement was apparently in response to media criticism that discussion of some urgent matters has been delayed due to the absence of full-time board members.adela.lin@afxasia.com-xfnal/xfntmCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
