STOCKHOLM (XFN-ASIA) - Swedish automaker Volvo AB announced an offer to buy Japanese truck maker Nissan Diesel Co Ltd for 7.5 bln skr.'AB Volvo's board of directors has decided to make a public offer to acquire the Japanese truck manufacturer Nissan Diesel. The offer, which is supported by Nissan Diesel's board of directors, means that Volvo offers 540 yen in cash per share and the total value of Volvo's offer amounts to 7.5bln skr,' Volvo said in a communique.Volvo already owns 19 pct of Nissan Diesel but its stake will rise to 46.5 pct once its preference shares are converted to ordinary shares.The offer is valid up to March 23, the communique said.afp/mas
