LONDON (AFX) - London's City Airport closed its runway today due to an 'incident,' the airport said on its website.'As a result of an incident at London City Airport this morning, the runway is currently closed,' the airport said.It did not specify the nature of the 'incident'.The single runway airport is the fifth largest serving the British capital following Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton.It is primarily used by smaller planes operating short-haul flights to European destinations and is popular with business travellers as it is close to the Canary Wharf financial district.newsdesk@afxnews.comslmCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
