Digital Angel in Schering-Plough pact |

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Digital Angel Corp., a provider of identification tags and tracking for animals and humans, said Tuesday it signed a multi-year distribution deal with a subsidiary of Schering-Plough Corp. to provide electronic identification microchips and scanners as part of a pet identification system that helps track lost animals.Financial terms were not disclosed.The exclusive agreement with Schering-Plough Home Again LLC replaces a contract signed in 2004.Schering-Plough launched its new HomeAgain proactive pet recovery network last month. The system puts an implantable microchip on pets so that lost animals can be properly identified and placed back with their owners when found.Shares of Digital Angel added 10 cents, or 3.9 percent, to $2.69 in morning trading on the American Stock Exchange. The stock has been trading in a 52-week range between $2.45 and $4.49. Schering-Plough shares gained 5 cents to $24.40 on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
