Bayer unit buys marketing, distribution network of Pharmonyx |

FRANKFURT (AFX) - Bayer AG unit Bayer HealthCare said it has taken over the marketing and distribution network of Pharmonyx Ltd in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan for an undisclosed amount.Pharmonyx has been responsible for marketing and distributing Bayer HealthCare products in these countries since 1999.Bayer HealthCare said it will take on 219 staff as part of the transaction.Arthur Higgins, the management board chairman of Bayer HealthCare, said in a statement the deal is to 'strengthen our presence in the fast-growing Eastern European region.'newsdesk@afxnews.comjfb/twCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
