SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - McClatchy Co. said Tuesday its February revenue fell 5.1 percent to $177.2 million on a drop in advertising revenue.The figure is compared with pro-forma revenue from a year prior, the company said, which includes the addition of newspapers bought in the Knight Ridder buyout and excluding the Minneapolis Star Tribune.Advertising revenue fell 5.2 percent in February, compared with the same period in 2006. Internet advertising revenue rose 1 percent but was hurt by a new affiliate agreement with CareerBuilder for online employment advertising.The company's overall daily newspaper circulation fell 4.3 percent in February while Sunday newspaper revenue fell 3.7 percent.Year-to-date total revenue fell 5.2 percent to $383.9 million, while year-to-date advertising revenue fell 5.5 percent.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
