(Updates with comments by Spain's Solbes, Ireland's Cowen)BERLIN (Thomson Financial) - Euro group president Jean-Claude Juncker said he is not worried about the recent strong appreciation of the euro.'I don't see any reason to worry about the euro, it has appreciated, not in a brutal fashion but slowly,' he told reporters as he entered a euro group meeting here.Spanish finance minister Pedro Solbes said: 'Our main preoccupation should be excess volatility.'Juncker also spoke of the need for more transparency on hedge funds and said this will be a topic for discussion at the two-day meeting which starts today.'There is a need for more transparency (of hedge funds) and we are working on it,' he said.Irish finance minister Brian Cowen said: 'We have to have a good regulatory framework.'.The euro group is meeting ahead of a wider informal gathering of all 25 EU finance ministers and central bankers.jessica.mortimer@thomson.comjkm/jlc/fr/vm/lamCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
