Kroger reaches deal with Seattle unions |

SEATTLE (AP) - Grocery store operator Kroger Co. said its Fred Meyer and QFC stores have reached a tentative agreement with Seattle labor unions on a new contract for grocery, meat and cashier workers.The agreement with United Food & Commercial Workers Union Locals 21, 44, 81 and Teamsters Local 28 in Seattle covers 3,500 Fred Meyer employees and 4,500 QFC workers at stores in King, Snohomish and Kitsap counties.Kroger said the United Food & Commercial Workers Union will recommend the agreement to its members on Aug. 26.Kroger shares rose 52 cents to $26.38 in afternoon trading.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
