WASHINGTON (AP) - The National Cable & Telecommunications Association paid Joseph Group LLC $120,000 in the first half of 2007 to lobby the federal government, according to a disclosure form.The firm lobbied Congress, the Commerce Department and the Federal Communications Commission on cable television franchising, the digital TV transition and other issues, according to the form posted online Wednesday by the Senate's public records office.TV broadcasters must switch from analog to digital signals by February 2009 under a federal mandate.The trade group represents cable operators -- including Comcast Corp., Time Warner Cable Inc. and Charter Communications Inc. -- that serve more than 90 percent of cable TV households, cable TV networks and cable equipment manufacturers.Under a federal law enacted in 1995, lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches.
