Marvel to partner with Dubai theme park

NEW YORK (AP) - Marvel Entertainment Inc. has agreed to license its super hero characters, including Spider-Man and X-Men, to United Arab Emirates-based Al Ahli Group, which is developing a theme park in Dubai.

Al Ahli Group will invest $1 billion to build the park, which is scheduled to open in 2011.

Financial terms of the licensing agreement were not disclosed. A Marvel spokesperson said the company will see revenue when the theme park opens.

Marvel said it is beginning talks with the developer to partner on additional projects in the region.
